LINCOLN, Neb. -- Gov. Dave Heineman has appointed Jacob Rissler of Gillette, Wyo., Rachel Henry of Peru, Neb., and Matthew Mullins of Falls City, Neb. as student representatives on the Nebraska State College System Board of Trustees for the 2014-2015 academic year.

Rissler, a junior at Chadron State College, is a business administration major, CSC student association president and a senior resident advisor for the CSC Residence Life Association.

In his application, Rissler said, “A student trustee should be the representative voice for students at the college and system administrative levels. The student trustee is ultimately the final key in the communication process among college staff, system staff, and the entire student body.”

Rissler has been involved in numerous organizations and received several honors. He was one of two students chosen to represent the CSC student senate at the American-Israel Public Affairs Committee Policy Conference in Washington, DC.

In his letter of recommendation, CSC Associate Professor Robert Knight stated that Rissler is an excellent student and he strongly recommends him for the position of student trustee.

Knight said, “Jacob possesses a sharp mind and an intellectual curiosity that makes him an ideal student. Jacob also has an outgoing and amicable personality, readily interacting with other students both in and outside of the classroom.”

Rissler is the son of Denise Guy of Gillette, Wyo. He succeeds Danny Reynaga of Alliance, Neb.
