Deadline extended for Cuba Libre' course and trip

Published:

Applications are still being accepted for the Cuba Libré.

Cuba Libré is a fall 2014 Chadron State College course that includes travel to Cuba at end of semester. The course can be taken to satisfy the essential studies six-hour capstone requirement. The course also can also for General Studies, elective and select major/minor requirements and can be taken for one to six hours of credit.

The cost of the trip is $3,050 dollars. Tuition scholarships are available and future fundraising activities are planned.

For students wanting to have the costs of the trip considered in the determination of their financial aid package, the application deadline for the course is May 15. If financial aid is not needed, the deadline to apply for the trip is August 19.

Cuba Libré is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to visit the last truly socialist holdout from the cold war in the western hemisphere, especially one with such an historically adversarial relationship with the United States.
