Chadron State College student talent will be showcased in an 8th annual concert, this year named “Release Live” co-sponsored by CSC Student Senate, Residence Life Association and The Pit.

 The event, on March 22 at 7:30 p.m. in the Memorial Hall Auditorium, will be free and open to the public. Some performances may include content intended for mature audiences.

 All of the acts will include CSC students according to director of the event Karl McFarlane who performs under the name Karl Minor Jamaican recording artist.

“There’s enough talent right here,” Minor said referring to the change in format which in past years included acts from Denver and other locations.

CSC student Sio Pea Ho Ching is designing the Polynesian choreography for Minor’s portion of the show.

Josh Scheler is serving as the assistant creative director and Laure Sinn, coordinator of student activities, is assisting with planning the event.

The three main acts of the program will feature three CSC students and their musical groups, Minor, Frederick Culp, Jr., who performs under the name “Freddy C” and Ariel Tiensvold leading the band “Living in Air”.

Other acts include CSC A Capella group, Alex Rodriguez and others.         

Immediately after the concert, The Pit will host a Hollywood-style “Party with the Stars” complete with security, paparazzi, a red carpet and velvet stanchion ropes in the CSC Student Center Ballroom. Guests will be able to have their photos taken with the performers and receive autographs.
