Chadron State College’s undergraduate business option in accounting has been ranked first in a list of online business and accounting degrees released last month by the Affordable Colleges Foundation (ACF).

The CSC data can be viewed online at online.

CSC offers a business administration undergraduate degree with an option in accounting. A Certified Public Accountant path is also available. Completion of this path allows students to acquire the necessary hours to sit for the CPA examination.

Dr. Joel Hyer, Dean of the School of Business, Entrepreneurship, Applied and Mathematical Sciences and Sciences, said the recognition solidly reaffirms the quality of this business option and the quality and efforts of CSC faculty.

According to an ACF press release, the organization analyzed data from hundreds of colleges with online accounting programs using a proprietary scoring system to rank colleges using various cost and quality metrics, including online undergraduate tuition, number of online accounting programs, student-teacher ratio, six-year graduation rate and percentage of undergraduate students receiving financial aid.

In addition to this recognition, the online master’s degrees at CSC have also been honored for excellence in the ACF Top Online Master’s Programs for 2015. The CSC ranking and data can be seen at online.

Hyer said, "It is always gratifying for Chadron State College to receive such a recognition. It certainly reflects our commitment to both affordability and excellence.”

ACF researchers visited websites for thousands of colleges and universities to create a comprehensive and unique data set of online master’s degree programs. To qualify for the ranking, colleges must be public and nonprofit.

Data analysts and higher education experts ranked graduate programs using various cost, quality and student support metrics, including number of online master’s programs, graduate school tuition and fees, academic and career counseling services and job placement for graduates.
