The Chadron State Foundation recently held a luncheon to kick off their annual fall fundraising effort.

Over 120 volunteers from both the campus and community will seek donations from campus employees and area businesses through Oct. 30.

Last year, volunteers raised over $200,000 for scholarship and program support.

Two CSC students addressed the audience at the luncheon. Erin Dunn, a secondary education major from Valentine, and Jordan Zeiler a pre-nursing major from Holyoke, Colo.

Both students reinforced the importance of scholarship offers made by Chadron State College. Erin noted that her scholarship not only aided her financially, it also gave her encouragement to attend college.

John Axtell, the voice of the Eagles, and Fran Grimes, Chairman of the Chadron State Foundation board both made contributions during the luncheon.

Axtell encouraged everyone to dig deep in their pockets to finish the building projects that have been started. Grimes thanked the volunteers in attendance and encouraged them to not only donate their time, but also make a financial donation to the campaign.

Each year, four volunteers are designated to co-chair the campaign. They are Jason Carnahan and Senna Reeves from the community side and Brent Bargen and Rob Stack from the campus side.

To make a donation to the annual campaign, contact Leslie Bargen at the Chadron State Foundation office at 308-432-6366.
