'Underpants' is first CSC theater production of the season
The first Chadron State College theater production of the year, “Underpants”, is scheduled for performances Oct. 3-6. The Steve Martin adaptation of the 1910 German farce by Carl Sternheim is hailed by the New York daily News as a “hilarious, over-the-top farce.”
When Theo and Louise Maske, portrayed by Doug Valade and Ashley Daniels, attend the king’s parade in 1910 Germany, Louise goes up on her toes as her underpants drop ever so briefly to the street. Concerned about his reputation, her husband must battle secret suitors who caught a glimpse of the incident, became enamored with Louise and rent their extra room to gain access to the beautiful, young Louise.
Other cast members include Sara Labor, Nathan Wojciechowski, Wacey Gallegos, Ryan Steinhour and Nicolai Poitra.
A “Behind the Scenes” preview and interview with the cast and crew can be seen on CSC YouTube channel.
Tickets are on sale at 308-432-6207 or boxoffice@csc.edu. Sunday shows are at 2 p.m. All other performances are at 7:30 p.m.
