Social Work faculty member published online
An article by Chadron State College assistant professor and Director of the Social Work program, Richard Kenney, was published online March 22.
The article is the E-News Exclusive for this month's “Social Work Today” and is available online at: socialworktoday.com/news/enews_0313_1.shtml.
Kenney said, “I wrote the article to present my definition of social work as well as to commemorate National Social Work Month which occurs every March. It is the first time I've been published in 'Social Work Today' and I consider it an honor to write for this publication.”
“I have had a number of articles in such publications as 'The New Social Worker' and 'Exceptional Parent', a magazine for parents of children or young adults with disabilities. In addition to writing for professional journals and magazines, I write short stories and poetry. I was a recipient of a Creative Writing Fellowship in Poetry from the Arizona Commission of the Arts,” Kenney said.
He added that his immediate writing goal is to prepare for his workshop for CSC's Story Catcher Summer Writing Workshop and Festival being held on campus May 28-31. “I will be presenting Beginning Creative Nonfiction. Under the Workshop Faculty tab at the top of the page for the Story Catcher Summer Writing Workshop, my bio and workshop description can be viewed," said Kenney.
