Public relations majors present at regional conference
Chadron State College public relations majors Justy Bullington and Sam Parker presented at a recent American Advertising Federation-Black Hills summit. They reviewed their experience with organizing and promoting “The Big Event” service learning project at CSC in April of 2013.
As a professional organization, AAF-BH continually encourages students from area colleges to become involved and network with professional members who may be able to provide advice, internships, job opportunities or connections.
Karissa Eifert, executive director of AAF-BH, said, “We want to do our part to ensure the best of the best are inspired to stay in our region.”
“Justy and Sam did a fantastic job presenting their findings on last year’s The Big Event and what they plan to change for the event next spring. They were both extremely professional and comfortable on stage and I appreciated the fact that their presentation included things that just didn't go well and what they learned from those experiences and how they plan to make corrections this year.”
Both Black Hills State University and CSC students were invited to present a project at the AAF-BH summit.
Eifert, a 2006 CSC alum, said she heard from many other professionals at the summit who complimented the Parker and Bullington and were quite impressed with their presentation.
“We would love to continue to keep Chadron students involved in our organization,” she said.
