Nicholle Lang, a senior from Scottsbluff majoring in elementary education, has been named the December 2013 Strive Student of the Month by Project Strive/TRiO.

The Project Strive/TRiO Student of the Month award recognizes outstanding Chadron State College students who are members of the organization. Each month, a participating student is selected for the award based upon work in Project Strive/TRiO and other activities on campus or in the community.

Award winners receive a plaque from Project Strive and their photo is placed on the Project Strive/TRiO 2013-14 Student of the Month achievement recognition board in the Strive Learning Center, formerly known as the Gold Room adjacent to High Rise.

“Take me out to the ball game” might be a common tune sung by Lang, that is, if it is a Colorado Rockies game. This sports enthusiast not only likes baseball, but her other favorite sporting teams include the Denver Broncos, Huskers, and Chicago Cubs.

She also enjoys shopping, swimming, softball, and her beloved dog Izzy. In addition to spending time with her coursework and friends, she is involved in Chi Alpha and Project Strive.

Information about other Project Strive/TRiO Student of the Month award winners can be seen online.
