Several fall instrumental concerts are scheduled by the Chadron State College music department.

Oct. 25 at 7:30 p.m. the chamber ensembles and wind ensembles will perform in Memorial Hall. The concert will be available at csc.edu/live.

This concert will feature the chamber ensembles in the first portion of the concert. These include the Brass Ensemble, Clarinet Quartet, Saxophone Quartet, and an OcTUBAfest group led by Jim Grimes of Chadron.

The Wind Symphony will perform following a short intermission.

The musical numbers will include American Overture for Band by Joseph Willcox Jenkins, October by Eric Whitacre, Puzsta (Four Gypsy Dances) by Jan Van der Roost and the Liberty Bell March by John Philip Sousa.

Dr. Sidney Shuler said, “The ensemble has made great strides in overall quality of performance.  Our group has begun forming more of a cohesive identity and that should aid us in accomplishing our immediate performance goals while striving to recruit more students to the instrumental music program through quality repertoire and performance here at CSC.”

Nov. 15 at 7:30 p.m., the Jazz band will perform in the Student Center.

Nov. 19 at 7:30 pm. the Wind Ensemble will perform along with the Chadron Campus and Community Concert Band in Memorial Hall. This concert can be seen live online and will be archived on the CSC YouTube channel.
