Heroes Homecoming parade cancelled due to weather

Chadron State College President Randy Rhine has announced that the 2013 homecoming parade will be canceled due to concerns over the Friday severe winter weather conditions being experienced and expected to continue throughout the day and early Saturday.

“We feel this is the right decision under the circumstances,” he said. He urged students, faculty and staff to be vigilant about the weather.

Parade organizers met yesterday and conferred about the possibility of going forward with the annual event.

The Eagle 5K Run, originally planned for Saturday morning, has been rescheduled for Oct. 30 in combination with the HPER Club’s traditional Haunted Trails run, according to Chris Green, Nelson Physical Activity Center coordinator.
