CSC graduate receives honor

The award was presented to Homan in mid-December at a statewide conference of the Nebraska Elementary School Principals Association in Kearney.  She is in her fourth year as the elementary principal at Morrill, where she also is the school’s preschool director.

A native of Douglas, Wyo., Homan received her bachelor of science in education degree from Chadron State in 1999 and earned a master’s degree in education from the college in 2010.

She initially taught first and second grade at the Lincoln Heights Elementary School in Scottsbluff for eight years, then spent three years as a math and Title One reading teacher at Torrington before becoming the elementary principal in Morrill in the fall of 2010.

The superintendent of the Morrill Schools, Nick Schafer, said Homan “relentlessly pursues perfection in her school and is loved unconditionally by her students.”
