CSC faculty/staff receive recognition
Reminiscing and sharing plans for retirement were on the agenda Tuesday evening as Chadron State College faculty and staff gathered for their annual recognition program.
Sandy Schaeffer, the CSC recipient of the Teaching Excellence Award, was honored as well as Patti Blundell and August Bruehlman who were also nominated for the award.
Retirees this year include John Alley, Deb Meter, Norma Nealeigh, Judy Rutter and Mark Stephen.
Years of Service Awards include the following:
35 years: Con Marshall
30 years: Kim Madsen, Dale Williamson and James Wright
20 years: Don King and Donna Ritzen
15 years: Amy Coates, Robyn Foral and Scott Kadlecek
10 years: Mary Jo Carnot, Jerry Cassiday, Ann Dockweiler, Maruta Hansen, Lorie Hunn, Roger Kendrick, Deena Kennell, Kathleen Kirsch, Susan Schaeffer, Joel Schreuder and Ottley Wright
Norma Nealeigh was presented with the Nebraska Association of Family and Consumer Sciences “Leader Award” for 2013 which she would have received at the organization's annual conference in Grand island, but she was unable to attend due to the winter storm "Walda."
Nealeigh and Kim Madsen received a NAFCS Certificate of Achievement for professional competence, growth, and commitment as demonstrated through attainment and 25 years of continuous maintenance of the Certified in Family and Consumer Sciences credential.
