Coffee Agriculture Pavilion opens

According to Blair Brennan, coordinator of physical facilities, Sampson, the general contractor for the project, will complete a punch list of unfinished items by the end of the semester.

Students enrolled in an equine communication class, AGRI 347, taught by Dustin Luper was the first group of students to use the pavilion on Dec. 3.

Other ag-related courses may be scheduled to utilize the space next semester. The college is in the process of buying a few panels and a small amount of other livestock handling equipment needed by faculty and students.

Weather factors such as heavy rains and high winds the past few months delayed the completion of the building.

Next spring, landscaping and seeding will begin around the north entrance to the arena. Earth work for the foundation of the Phase II classroom and lab building which will be built northwest of the Coffee Agriculture Pavilion should begin in late February or early March. An open house will take place following the completion of Phase II of the Rangeland Complex.
