Chadron State College scores well
Chadron State College scores well in the U.S. Department of Education’s College Affordability and Transparency Center's new rating system of public and private post-secondary institutions. The college’s four indicators are all near or better than the national average. President Barak Obama announced the new scoring system in his recent State of the Union address.
At CSC, the average net price (what students pay after grants and scholarships are subtracted from the cost to attend) was well below the national average at $9,125 per year. The college’s six-year graduation rate of 45.6% falls within the medium range of those schools which primarily award bachelors' degrees nationwide.
Chadron State’s 11.3% student loan default rate is under the national average of 13.4% and the median level of borrowing is far below the national average at just $118.41 per month.
Dr. Randy Rhine, president of CSC, said, “We are proud of our ability to provide students with a quality and affordable education at Chadron State College.” Sherry Douglas, interim executive director of student services, said, “CSC has a singular focus on student success from free tutoring to residential life programming to scholarship support. Student success is at our core.”
