'Austen-tatious' event to celebrate author's works
In honor of the 200th anniversary of the publishing of Jane Austen’s book "Pride and Prejudice," the Mari Sandoz High Plains Heritage Center and the Sigma Tau Delta honor society at Chadron State College will host “Austen-tatious,” an event to celebrate the author's works Monday, Jan. 28.
The event, which is open to the public free of charge, will begin at 7 p.m. at the Mari Sandoz Center.
The Center will be showing the movies "Pride and Prejudice" featuring Keira Knightley and "Emma" featuring Gwyneth Paltrow. Center director Sarah Polak said English themed refreshments and door prizes will be provided.
The presentations will begin at 7 o'clock with the movies at 7:30 p.m. Both movies will run simultaneously, each lasting approximately 2 hours.
