Graduation ceremonies set for May 5

Chadron State College will confer degrees to bachelor’s and master’s degree recipients during two commencement ceremonies Saturday, May 5.

CSC expects to award 74 master’s degrees and 244 bachelor’s degrees this spring. The ceremony for the graduate students will be at 8 a.m. in Memorial Hall followed by the undergraduate ceremony at 10 a.m. at the Armstrong Physical Education Building.

The speaker for the undergraduate commencement will be Nebraska State College System Chancellor Stan Carpenter, who has led Chadron State and the other two NSCS institutions for 12 years. Dr. James Wright, CSC professor of business, will speak during the graduate ceremony. Wright, who has been employed at CSC since 1983, teaches courses in business and economic statistics, quantitative methods, production and operation management and professional ethics.
