An upcoming event at Chadron State College is designed to help entrepreneurs attain success.

The Nebraska Business Development Center’s Entrepreneurial Extravaganza will be Saturday, Nov. 3, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Student Center.

Lori Frederick, a CSC graduate assistant who is helping organize the event, said the workshop will be helpful for both prospective entrepreneurs and current business owners. She said the event will provide a networking opportunity for entrepreneurs, both current and aspiring, who are faced with uncertainty about how to proceed as the new year approaches.

“If you have an existing business or you are looking at starting a new business, this workshop is going to cover a lot of things that apply to both,” she said.

Participants will learn an array of helpful information, including how to evaluate an entrepreneurial idea and write a business plan that is attractive to lenders. Also on the agenda is how to develop a marketing strategy that includes networking, such as the use of social media. Other topics include business for military veterans, as well as youth business and e-commerce.

The featured presenter is Dr. Timothy Donahue, a CSC business professor who directs the NBDC’s Chadron office. With more than 30 years of experience assisting small business owners, he has developed a reputation as a trainer and strategic marketing professional. Student Andrew Borgialli of Buffalo, Wyo., also is involved in facilitating the event.

Also, businesses and organizations will join the event with information about their services for entrepreneurs.

The registration deadline is Oct. 31. People may register by contacting the CSC conferencing office at 308-432-6380 or sjohns@csc.edu. The cost is $40 for adults. Second guests and students may sign up for $20. The price includes lunch.
