Enrollment reaches 3k

2012-10-10 Enrollment reaches 3k

For the first time in about 15 years, Chadron State College’s enrollment has reached 3,000.

The institution reports that the fall semester enrollment reached exactly 3,000 on Tuesday, Oct. 9, a 2.15 percent increase from the 2,937 reported on the same date a year ago. If the number holds until the end of the semester, it will mark the first time since 1997 the institution has ended a term above 3,000. The end-of-term enrollment was 3,003 that year.

“It’s been a goal of ours to reach 3,000 students, and we’re proud of the accomplishment,” said Dr. Randy Rhine, CSC interim president. “I believe it represents a trend of progress at Chadron State and I would like to thank the faculty and staff who have worked hard to keep CSC moving forward.”

Much of the growth is represented in the graduate student enrollment, including those enrolling in the second set of eight-week courses that begin Oct. 22. Students are continuing to sign up for those courses and CSC officials are hopeful that the end-of-term enrollment number will continue to improve.
