CSC awards record number of master's degrees

Chadron State College on Saturday, May 5, conferred degrees to 318 graduates during two commencement ceremonies, including an institutional record 74 master's degrees.

The 244 undergraduate degrees were presented in the Armstrong Physical Education Building, and graduate degrees were conferred at Memorial Hall.

The commencement speakers were Dr. James Wright, CSC professor of business, and Stan Carpenter, chancellor of the Nebraska State College System.

On Friday, May 4, outstanding graduates were honored during the annual Ivy Day ceremony.

Photos of the graduates who participated in Saturday's ceremonies may be purchased online as a fundraiser for the Student Alumni Council. SAC also is selling DVDs of the ceremonies. They may be purchased by contacting club sponsor Leslie Bargen (308-432-6366 or lbargen@csc.edu) and indicating the ceremony of choice.
