In celebration of the Week of the Young Child, Chadron State College’s Child Development Center is opening its doors for tours.

The center, which is designed to “educate educators,” serves families with children ages 2-9. Located at the east side of the Burkhiser Complex, the center is open 7 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Monday-Friday.

Chadron Mayor Karin Fischer was at the center Tuesday, April 17, to sign a proclamation in recognition of the annual Week of the Young Child, which is April 22-28. While signing the proclamation surrounded by the center's children, Fischer commended CSC for promoting quality child care and called the center an asset to the community.

Those who would want to arrange a tour of the accredited child care facility and nationally certified Nature Explore Outdoor Learning Environment, may call 308-432-6379.
