Hundreds of high school students from three states will assess their academic aptitude during the Chadron State College Scholastic Contest on Friday, April 13.

This marks the 52nd year for the Scholastic Contest, which is believed to be the largest of its kind in the Midwest. A total of 1,406 students from 50 high schools have signed up to participate in one or more of the 44 tests administered by CSC faculty members. The event begins at 8:30 a.m. and runs through the morning.

Medals will be awarded to the top three individuals in each test. Seniors who win first in a test will receive a Scholastic Achievement Award, which will cover the in-state tuition to attend Chadron State during the 2012-2013 academic year. Schools accumulating the most points in each of the five divisions will receive plaques.

More than two dozen activities and displays at 11 campus locations have been scheduled for students to enjoy while not testing.

More information, including test results the day of the event, may be found at www.csc.edu/scholastic.
