Anselmo senior wins Student Senate election

James Bahensky of Anselmo has been elected to lead the Chadron State College Student Senate for the 2012-2013 academic year. Bahensky won the presidency in a vote of the student body Wednesday and Thursday, April 18-19.

 Bahensky, who is set to earn a bachelor’s degree in human biology this spring, plans to begin study toward a Master of Arts in Education degree from CSC. He has served as Student Senate vice president this year. 

Running with Bahensky was current Student Senate treasurer T.J. Thomson of Golden, Colo., a junior studying communication arts. He will be the new vice president.

The CSC Student Senate represents the student body, providing a forum for the expression of student views and interests.

Ten other students won positions on the Student Senate during the election.

Senators for the School of Business, Economics, Applied and Mathematical Sciences, and Sciences: Joseph Reedy, Vale, S.D.; and Jocelyn Utecht, Hastings; Beth Wroblewski, St. Paul.

Senators for the School of Liberal Arts: Hannah Clark, Littleton, Colo.; Ashley Swanson, Moorcroft, Wyo.

Senator for the School of Education, Human Performance, Counseling, Psychology and Social Work: Elizabeth Rice, Ravenna; Heather Wing, Whitney.
