Three Chadron State College graduates have been accepted to study at the University of South Dakota School of Law at Vermillion this fall.

They are Amy Jo Janssen of Ellsworth, Dean Fankhauser of Chadron and Jason Thomas of Rapid City, S.D.

Janssen, whose maiden name is Glassgow, graduated from CSC in May 2011 with majors in criminal justice and legal studies. She is married to Jake Janssen.

Fankhauser also graduated this May with a major in legal studies.

Thomas, a 2006 graduate, earned a bachelor’s degree in history with minors in political science and legal studies.

The USD School of Law is one of just 199 institutions with programs approved by the American Bar Association. To gain acceptance, students must take the standardized Law School Admission Test and have at least a bachelor’s degree.

CSC’s legal studies curriculum is within CSC’s Justice Studies Department, which focuses on building knowledge in the areas of law enforcement, criminology, law, paralegal studies, courts, juvenile justice, forensic studies and corrections.
