Students of Chadron State College’s exhibit design and museum education courses traveled to Denver on March 21-22 to meet with designers at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science.

Senior exhibit graphic designer Salle Tulchin and exhibit designer Chad Swiercinsky gave students a behind-the-scenes tour of the museum’s exhibit design and constructions facilities, as well as exhibits the museum has in production. The designers then discussed the students’ exhibit design projects and the role of education in the exhibit design process.

A highlight was a visit to the special exhibit “Real Pirates: The Untold Story of The Whydah.” Students also visited the Denver Zoo.

The exhibit design students’ class project involves creating exhibits in the Math and Science Building. Museum education students are planning guided tours of area museums for their final projects.
