London trip participants to blog

Chadron State College justice studies students are adding a new dimension to a longstanding tradition this month when they head “across the pond” for an annual two-week study abroad trip.

When the 14 students and two faculty members of the CSC justice studies program travel to London, they will be blogging about their experiences. The group, led by faculty members Dr. Tracy Nobiling and Dr. Jamie Wada, will depart Sunday, May 8, and return Sunday, May 22.

Many of the students have already made posts to their online journals. Nobiling wrote a tribute to the late Dr. George Watson, the CSC faculty member who initiated the trip 35 years ago.

The trip has long served as a way for CSC students to compare and contrast criminal justice and legal systems between the United Kingdom and their home country.

In recent years, students of other learning disciplines have joined the group. This year’s voyage will include 11 CSC business students and 12 education students. Other faculty members traveling are Dr. Barbara Limbach, Dr. Jamie Waldo, Dr. Lorie Hunn and Dr. Don King. As in years past, a contingent from the University of Nebraska at Omaha also will take part in the experience.

The blog may be found on the CSC website at csc.edu/justicestudies.
