Foundation fall fundraising effort under way

Published:

Chadron State College students will again benefit from the fundraising and generosity of Chadron business people and college employees.

The Chadron State Foundation kicked off its annual fall fundraising campaign Wednesday at the Student Center with a luncheon for its 124 volunteers. Each year, four volunteers are designated to lead the campaign, while the others are divided into teams of six – 10 for the business side and 10 for the college. This year’s volunteer leaders are community members Jon Daniels and Tina McLain, and CSC employees Brad Smith and Donna Ritzen.

The volunteers will seek donations through Oct. 28. The proceeds, which will count toward the Vision 2011 fundraising campaign, will provide a wide range of campus support. The volunteer portion of the campaign last year raised $200,247.

Campaign organizer Leslie Bargen, CSC development officer, was joined by a list of upbeat speakers who expressed gratitude for the volunteers’ efforts to improve students’ lives and gave examples of what makes CSC unique.

The speakers included Dr. Randy Rhine, CSC vice president for student services and enrollment management, Connie Rasmussen, executive director of the foundation, the four campaign leaders and three CSC students -- Mikah Kadera of Sheridan, Wyo., Riley Machal of Gretna and Cressey Yeutter of Eustis.
