Dancers presenting 'Coppelia' Saturday
The Consuming Fire Dance Theater and Nu Alpha Delta on Saturday, Jan. 22, will present “Coppelia,” described in publicity materials as a charming funny ballet full of humor and mime. The free community performance will be in Chadron State College’s Memorial Hall at 7 p.m.
Coppelia is based on “Der Sandmann,” a story by E.T.A. Hoffman published in 1815. The ballet premiered in 1870.
The three-act performance will feature more than 20 cast members representing a wide variety of ages. They include community members, children and college students.
