Community band, chorus plan holiday concert
The Chadron State College Community Symphonic Band will join the Chadron Community Chorus for a holiday concert this week.
The concert will be 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, at the Chadron Arts Center at Fourth and King streets. Admission is free.
A pair of CSC faculty members lead the groups. Dr. Una Taylor directs the chorus and Dr. Adam Lambert conducts the band.
The concert will begin with prelude music of holiday carols performed by a brass choir. The band portion of the concert will consist of several familiar holiday favorites, including “O Holy Night,” “Away in a Manger,” “I Saw Three Ships,” “Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring,” and “Coventry Carol.”
The chorus selections include "Sleigh Ride," "Good Ale," "Nowell," "Deo Gracias" and "Go Tell It on the Mountain."
The concert will conclude with the band, choir and audience combining for a holiday sing-a-long of carols.
