Milestones

Pearl Johnson ‘92 is the new science teacher for grades 10-12 at Gering High School.

Kraig Weyrich ‘92 is the new assistant principal at Gering Public Schools’ Freshman Academy.

Dee Tlustos ‘00 is the new elementary resource teacher at Central City Public Schools.

Drs. Nathan ‘05 and Jamie Kotschwar ‘04 of McCook began work as a husband-wife veterinarian team at Red Willow Animal Clinic on Aug. 1. The Kotschwars received pre-veterinary training at Chadron State before completing studies at Kansas State University.

Joe Konrad ‘09 of  Kalamazoo, Mich., has taken the position of executive director of Habitat for Humanity of Battle Creek, Mich. He spent the last six years as the business administrator for First United Methodist Church in Kalamazoo.

Births

Laura (VanWesten) '97 and Cary Steele of Lincoln welcomed son Donovan James on July 1. He joins sister Grace.

Tammy ‘04 (Glasscock) and Dave Bellau of Klamath Falls, Ore., welcomed their third daughter, Naomi Susanna Belau, July 14. She was 18¾ inches long and weighed 6 pounds, 10.2 ounces. She joins sisters Rachel, 4, and Jaelle, 2.

In other news ..

James ’69 and Marilyn Sutton of McCook were riding the rails during two train accidents in two days during a trip to California. They were aboard during an accident Aug. 25 at Windover, Nev., and the derailment at Benkelman on Aug. 26. The Suttons were not injured and still recommend traveling by train.

Among the visitors to campus this fall was Radcliffe ‘07  and Shiho Lennox of Shizuoka City, Japan. It was the first time in Chadron for Radcliffe Lennox, who earned a master of business administration degree online. During their visit Aug. 20-21, The Lennoxes toured area attractions with Dr. Tim Donahue, professor of business, and visited the home of Dr. Janie Park, president.

Deaths

Donald Wilkinson ‘52, Minatare, died April 16.

Stanley Serbousek ‘55, Bremerton, Wash., died Aug. 25.

Carl Leo Anstett ‘55, Hill City, S.D., died Sept. 1.
