More than 30 artists and musicians will promote diversity by expressing their talents Saturday during “Release,” the annual variety show at Chadron State College's Memorial Hall. The show begins at 7:30 p.m.

This marks the fourth year of "Release," which is organized by CSC student Jovan Mays of Aurora, Colo.

“The actual definition of release is the act of freeing one’s self,” Mays said. “We have taken this definition to a musical sense and worked it into a show, presenting and promoting freeness of expression through music.”

The artists include break dancing group  U.H.F. of Albuquerque, N.M., singer Paige Salter of Chattanooga, Tenn., indie rock musicians May Kit and Dwight Forcey of Denver, and numerous top caliber slam poets from Denver and Omaha.

Local talent, including performers from Sigma Tau Delta’s Open Mic Night series at the Bean Broker, also will take the stage.

The event is open to the public free of charge.
