Outstanding seniors recognized at Ivy Day

Chadron State College’s outstanding seniors garnered special recognition Friday during the annual Ivy Day ceremony at Memorial Hall.

More than 100 students were recognized during the award presentations, which included students graduating in December 2009 and May 2010.

Nichole Koerwitz of Wheatland, Wyo., and Chedric Monahan of Chadron served as orators for the event. The faculty greeter was Dr. Lorie Hunn, assistant professor of education. Kortany Schultz of Scottsbluff and Doug Liewer of Butte were the masters of ceremony.

Five students were recognized for earning tutoring certification from the College Reading and Learning Association. They are Katherine Becker, Alliance; Peter Charambira, Masvingo, Zimbabwe; Brianna Leesch, Sioux Falls, S.D.; Robert Merchant, Thedford ; and Tanner Rockwell, Valentine.
