International Education Week events resume Tuesday
Chadron State College will continue its recognition of International Education Week with a pair of events Tuesday.
CSC international students will model for a fashion show in the Student Center on Tuesday, Nov. 16, at 7 p.m. – an event which was originally scheduled for Monday. In addition, about 55 area elementary students are scheduled to visit the campus earlier in the day Tuesday for cultural exercises hosted by the International Club.
CSC international alumni who live in Chadron will be featured during the “Looking Back and Into the Future” event Thursday, Nov. 18, at 7 p.m. in the Student Center. The closing event will be at the Bean Broker coffee shop in downtown Chadron as part of Open Mic Night on Friday, Nov. 19, at 8 p.m. The series began Saturday, Nov. 13, with a Kickoff Dance and Quiz Ball.
Iuliia Protopop, co-sponsor of the CSC International Club, said the events will embrace the uniqueness of nations, share rich cultures and improve global awareness on the CSC campus and the rest of the Chadron community.
International Education Week, which is Nov. 15-19, is a joint initiative of the U.S. Department of Education and the U.S. Department of State to celebrate and promote the importance and benefits of international education in the United States and around the world. Chadron Mayor Donny Grantham signed a proclamation Nov. 1 to formally recognize the week.
