Information session set for New Mexico journey

People wanting to learn more about a “study away” excursion to historical New Mexico are being encouraged to attend an informational session Tuesday, Oct. 12, at 11 a.m. in the Bordeaux room of the Student Center.

The nine-day trip, which is being coordinated by the Communication and Social Sciences Department, will begin May 7, 2011.

Dr. Robert Knight, one of the trip’s organizers, said participants will learn about the history of Pueblo Indians, Spaniards and Anglos who settled in northern New Mexico and southern Colorado and who Mexican-American identity was constructed from the interactions among these peoples.
