hadron State College is expecting more than 120 of this fall's new students to be on campus for the first of three optional registration sessions Wednesday, June 2.

The event will begin with check-in at 10 a.m. and conclude with an information fair at 2 p.m.
In addition to finalizing course schedules, the students will be exposed to a wide array of information about college life. The morning session includes information about admissions, housing and health services, in addition to campus tours. In the afternoon, students will meet with faculty to review the individual course schedules that CSC personnel have created for them. Deena Kennell, director of CSC Career and Academic Planning Services, said the registration sessions serve as not only a way for students to make sure their course schedules are set to their best interests, but also helps them become familiar with CSC personnel and the college's systems. There also will be a session with information tailored to parents who accompany the students.
CSC's two other optional registration sessions this summer are Wednesday, June 16, and Wednesday, July 14. Kennell said improved marketing has resulted in increased popularity for the optional sessions, noting that the number of students signed up for the two June sessions exceeds the number registered in all sessions last summer. "We have a dramatic increase in the number of students participating," she said.
Regardless of whether or not new students plan to attend one of the on-campus registration sessions, they must complete information at the On-Campus Registration" page on CSC's Web site "https://www.csc1.net/admissions/forms/registration.csc", Kennell said. Completing the form will ensure that students get lined up with a fall schedule and an advisor. Additionally, unlike the discretionary registration sessions, new students must sign up for the college's mandatory orientation session.
