Events set to honor Martin Luther King

Community members who want to pay tribute to Martin Luther King Jr. have the opportunity to participate in a pair of special events at Chadron State College in the coming week.

On Friday, Jan. 15, CSC will host a candlelight vigil in the Student Center ballroom at 7 p.m. Then on Monday, Jan. 18 – Martin Luther King Day -- the college’s annual march in honor of the civil rights leader will begin at the Common Cents parking lot at 9 a.m. Participants will walk from downtown to CSC’s Lindeken Clocktower

CSC student services counselor Carl Cousin, who is organizing the events, said both high school and college students are planning to participate in the activities.
