Chadron State College has scheduled events for Chadron’s week-long 125th anniversary celebration.

Two events are set Tuesday, July 6, for “History and Heritage Day.” From 9 a.m. to noon, the new High Plains Wildlife Collection of taxidermy at the Burkhiser Complex will be open to the public. Visitors to the exhibit are encouraged to use the upper level entrance on the west side of the building.

Also Tuesday will be the second installment of “Tunes at Twilight,” the new concert series hosted by the Mari Sandoz High Plains Heritage Center. The concert by the Professors of Jazz will begin at the atrium's east entrance at 6 p.m. The center has extended its hours Tuesday and will be open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

On “Schools Day,” Friday, July 9, from 9 a.m. to noon, the Sandoz Center will host alumni and friends of Chadron Prep, the former preparatory and laboratory school on campus. The college will offer guided tours of the campus and college buildings every half hour beginning at 9. Refreshments will be provided. Sarah Polak, Sandoz Center director, is encouraging alumni to bring memories and memorabilia.

All events are open to the public free of charge.
