Early Childhood Conference set for February

Chadron State College’s 22nd annual Excellence in Early Childhood Conference has been set for Friday and Saturday, Feb. 18-19, at the CSC Student Center.

The conference, with its theme of “United We Stand for Children … Reconnecting to Nature,” will again provide professional development with presentations and workshops that support best practices in early childhood education.

The Friday afternoon of the conference will feature the “Living in the State of Poverty” simulation with University of Nebraska extension educators Carla Mahar and Jamie Goffena.

Speakers include David Roth, a singer, songwriter and speaker from Cape Cod, Mass.; Dr. Cheryl Charles, president, chief executive officer and co-founder of the New Mexico based Children and Nature Network; and Dr. Tonia Durden, early childhood education extension specialist at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln.
