Blood drive is Feb. 11 at CSC

Members of the community who want to give the gift of life this Valentine's Day season will have the opportunity during an upcoming blood drive at Chadron State College.

West Nebraska Blood Center will administer the blood drive Thursday, Feb. 11, in the Student Center from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event is open to everyone and walk-ins are welcome. Appointments may be made by calling 303-931-8976.

The drive is being promoted by Chadron State's Cardinal Key honor society. CSC senior Ashley Nutsch of Highlands Park, Colo., a Cardinal Key officer, said the blood drive helps meet the organization's goal of providing service to the community.

"The blood drive is one of our big yearly projects and we are hoping to not only gain a lot of interest, but also to emphasize the importance of donating blood to save lives," she said. "It is the quickest, easiest, cheapest, and safest donation that anyone can ever make, and with one donation you can save three lives. Plus there will be free cookies for the broke and starving college student."
