A cappella group InPulse coming Thursday

InPulse, an a cappella group which has received praise from college audiences, will bring its music to Chadron State College's Memorial Hall this week. The band will perform at 7:30 p.m. Thursday as the sixth and final event of CSC's 2009-2010 Galaxy Series of fine arts and cultural events.
The group, with members who received formal training at Minnesota’s St. Olaf College and Concordia University, was named the second-best band of the year by Campus Activities Magazine in 2007.
In promotional materials, InPulse declares its mission is to “take the ‘vocal band’ sound into mainstream music and bring genuine musical artistry to today’s pop culture.”
The four-member band, featuring Gabe Koxlien, Andy Miller, Matt McDonald and Elliott Robinson, maintains a rigorous touring schedule of concert halls, colleges and universities, fairs and festivals, community and private events. Since forming in 2003, the group has produced three albums, sold more than 25,000 recordings and lists more than 20 honors and achievements. The honors include being named grand champion of the 2004 Rocky Mountain Harmony Sweepstakes in Denver.
The band also runs an educational outreach program and is scheduled to meet with one of CSC’s classes while in Chadron.
Tickets, which are free for CSC students and employees, may be obtained by contacting the CSC box office at 308-432-6207 or boxoffice@csc.edu. The box office is open 2-6 p.m. each weekday and 5 p.m. to curtain on the day of the performance.
