195 set to graduate this week

The list of degree candidates includes 59 who are earning advanced degrees and 36 who are graduating with honors. Thirty-eight of the graduates completed their coursework this summer.

Lee Baumann of St. Louis, Mo., a 1973 Chadron State College graduate who is senior vice president for State Farm Insurance Companies, will deliver the commencement address.

The event will feature music by the CSC Brass Ensemble, the presentation of colors by the CSC Reserve Officer Training Corps, and moments of reflection by graduates Caitlin Parker of Rock Springs, Wyo., and Jeffery Nemecek of Chadron.

Dr. Janie Park, CSC president, and Dr. Lois Veath, CSC vice president for academic affairs, will conduct the ceremony. Larry Teahon of Chadron, chairman of the Nebraska State College System Board of Trustees, also will speak.

The event will be broadcast live on Chadron cable channel 20. The CSC Student Alumni Council will sell DVDs of the ceremony and individual photos of the graduates will be available for purchase online at chadronstate.smugmug.com/portraits/graduates.

The degree candidates represent 17 states and five nations.
