Time, location changed for spirit rally

Chadron State College’s homecoming spirit rally has a new time and location.

The rally will be in the Student Center at 6:30 p.m. tonight (Thursday). The time and location were changed because of inclement weather and to help fans make it to the Eagles’ volleyball match against Adams State at 7 p.m. in Armstrong Gymnasium.

In addition to speeches from CSC President Janie Park and members of the football team, finalists of the homecoming royalty competition and winners for the bedsheet decorating contest will be announced. The CSC band and cheerleaders also plan to perform. Voting for bedsheets will continue in the Student Center until 5 p.m. today.

Kortany Schultz, the president of CSC’s Cardinal Key chapter, said the weather also put a damper on attendance of Wednesday night’s lighting of C Hill. Despite the high winds and damp conditions, she and about 10 others marched the hill with glow sticks to fulfill the tradition. The concrete letter was later lit with a floodlight, which will continue to illuminate it both tonight and Friday.
