Senior tutors recognized

Eleven Chadron State College seniors were recognized during Ivy Day on Friday for meeting the requirements for national tutor certification from the College Reading and Learning Association. The minimum requirements include 10 hours of training and 25 hours of hands-on tutoring.

Those certified are: 

Pamela Anderson, Minden; Amanda Gydesen, Ord; Barrett Hahn, Aurora; Greg Kusek, Alliance; Leslie Mueller, Martin, S.D.; Holly LaRue Newbold, North Platte; Michelle Schultz, Grand Island; Dan Schweitzer, Hot Springs, S.D.; Melat Sileshi, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia; Raycheal Steininger, Sidney; and Nathaniel Watkins, Alliance.

In addition, five seniors were recognized at Ivy Day as supplemental instruction leaders. They were selected by faculty to attend classes they had previously completed, take notes, read the text and provide from three to five study sessions for those who are enrolled in the course and wish to attend.

They are Anderson; Gydesen; Corby Dayhoff, Gillette, Wyo.; Brittany Schultz, Scottsbluff; and Samuel Tetteh, Accra, Ghana.
