About 1,500 students from 50 high schools in three states will be at Chadron State College on Friday, April 3, for the 49th annual Scholastic Contest.

The contest features exams in 49 subjects that represent a wide array of learning disciplines. New to this year's contest are tests in equine management, photojournalism and simulated news reporting. Each senior who wins an exam competition is granted one year of free resident tuition to CSC.

"A student's selection to participate in the contest is an indication of his or her academic talent, achievement, and dedication," said CSC President Dr. Janie Park. "We sincerely appreciate the efforts on the part of the school districts, administrators, and teachers who have selected, encouraged, and supported student participation in the Chadron State College Scholastic Contest."

More information about the contest, including its schedule and live results the day of the event, may be found at www.csc.edu/scholastic . The testing will begin at 8:30 a.m. and conclude at 12:30 p.m.
