Professor wins chess tourney
Chadron State College professor Brad Wilburn claimed first place in the 27th annual CSC Chess Open late last month.
Wilburn and the other contestants each played four matches in the tournament, which was Saturday, March 21. Wilburn is a faculty member in CSC's Department of English and Humanities.
Trophies were awarded to the top six places. The other placewinners, in order of finish, were Steve Cary of Loveland, Colo., Jim Joule of Alliance, Ron Miller of Chadron, Lance Paris of Crawford and Richard Darnell of Chadron.
The CSC Chess Open is sponsored by the Northwest Nebraska Gamesters Association, a club for CSC students, employees and alumni.
