Jazz Ensemble sets first performance
The Chadron State College Jazz Ensemble will make its first appearance of the fall at the Student Center cafeteria Wednesday, Oct. 28. The performance will be 5-5:30 p.m. and open to the public free of charge.
The band, which is under the direction of Dr. Michael Stephens, will perform a variety of literature, from swing to rock to latin. The performance will mark Stephens’ first as director.
“I am very excited to be leading this excellent group of musicians, and I am honored to stand in front of them and take credit for their efforts. Seriously, though, this is a hard-working band, yet we have a lot of fun, and I believe it comes through in the music,” Stephens said.
Stephens became the director of the ensemble this fall.
