Grant to help fund trail expansion
The Chadron Lifespan Wellness Team will be presented a grant from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska this week to help expand the Heritage Trail south of the Chadron State College campus.
Steve Martin, the company’s president and CEO, will be on campus for the presentation Tuesday, Sept. 22, from 5-7 p.m. The public is invited to attend the event, which will be at the trailhead south of the Armstrong Building and Elliott Field.
The $10,000 grant will pay for signage and benches along the expansion effort by CSC.
In 2008, a grant from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska helped fund outdoor exercise equipment for the recreational trail and other points in the community.
