Concert to feature Community Choir, Arioso, TrebleMakers
A variety of music will fill the air when the Chadron Community Chorus performs Sunday at 3 p.m. at the Chadron Arts Center at 371 King Street. Admission is free and open to the public.
The community choir and two other groups conducted by Dr. Una Taylor will sing arrangements of songs from other countries and cultures, such as Cuba, Africa, Ireland and Newfoundland. The other two groups are the Chadron State College women's choir, Arioso, and the children's group, the TrebleMakers.
The titles include "El Mambi", Cuban folk song, "Siyahamba" from South Africa, an Irish folk song called "The Garten Mother's Lullabye," and what Taylor describes as really fun tune, "Feller from Fortune" from Newfoundland.
