The Chadron State College Health, Physical Education and Recreation Club will sponsor Trick-or-Trot, a 5K run, on Halloween, Saturday, Oct. 31.

Costumes are encouraged and prizes will be awarded for the best outfits. The cost for entry is $15 and the race will begin at 8:30 a.m. All proceeds from the race go to assisting club majors with fund-raising for conferences, national conventions and a trip to Colorado Springs to visit the Olympic Training Center. Register by Oct. 23 to be guaranteed a t-shirt. 

A second race, the Frozen Turkey Trot, will be Nov. 21. This race also will be a 5k run and is sponsored by Chadron Community Recreation and the CSC HPER Club. Cost for entrance is again, $15 and the race will begin at 8:30 a.m. Prizes and turkeys will be given away. Register by Nov. 13 to be guaranteed a t-shirt.

Both races are open to the public. To register, or for more information, contact Donna Ritzen, HPER instructor, at 432-6297 or Sarah Milner, Nelson Physical Activity Center coordinator, at 432-6392.

The HPER Club is a club for the majors in the Health, Physical Education, and Recreational field of study. The intention of this organization is to bring Chadron State students together for the purpose of social and educational awareness in these fields of study. Students are also encouraged to join professional organizations such as the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance and its state chapter, the Nebraska Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance.
