Band groups combining for concert Thursday
A concert at Chadron State College this week will feature student musicians spanning a wide range of ages.
The Chadron State College Wind Symphony will join the Chadron middle school and high school band groups for a concert at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 19, in Memorial Hall. The concert is open to the public free of charge.
Adam Lambert, the director of the Wind Symphony, said about 120 student-musicians will be involved. The middle school and high school bands are directed by Joe Rischling.
"This gives us an opportunity to perform in front of each other and showcase what we've been working on so far this year," Lambert said. "It also gives the community the opportunity to see all these groups in one place."
Each music group plans to play four of five songs. The concert will conclude with a combined piece performed by all the groups.
